The process involves application of double-deck packed bed scrubber-cum-separator using lime-stone and reusable packing material. The exhaust gases are fed at the bottom of water scrubber. The pollution free gases are sucked through top of the chimney using induced draft fan. SPM levels are brought down from 1,000-2,000 mg/m3 to within permissible limits of 500 mg/nm3.
