Ferrocement door shutters/window frames bring down the cost of joinery. These are strong, durable, termite resistant and less prone to fire and weathering. FC can also be used for making cupboards. They are fabricated in modules and assembled together. The shutters for the cupboard can be fixed to a timber frame, which in turn is fixed to FC. These offer a saving of about 30-40% over conventional second class deodar wood items
