The cold storage chains currently being deployed in various parts of the country are traditional vapour compression referigeration systems.These systems have a significant power consumption in terms of operational cost of the referigeration systems. There is a alternative system that can be implemented which can be easily plugged into the existing set up of a typical cold chain.This can be even plugged into a thermal solar setup where the energy from direct electric conversion and the thermal energy can be effectively used to power the cold storage plant. Currently farmers in Kadur region of Chikmaglur district have been open to this idea and we can implement a pilot model based on the approval. Also, farmers in Davangere Region of karnataka have been approached with this idea
