Unique Features Of The Solution/equipment - How Is It Different Than What Is Available In The Market:

We are developing a material that is 100% biodegradable and that can be used on present day plastic machines so that the new technology will not disrupt the manufacturing supply chain. Our uniqueness is that we are developing a solution that does not cause any loss of employment or additional investment by the industry. Instead we are able to create hundreds more job in farming and fibre extraction. Wit captive bamboo farming, the company will get cost advantage than any other competition in India or internationally. We in India have a very large agriculture base and our geographic location makes us ideal to build products based on agro farming. Best material naturally of polymeric nature is cellulose. And of all cellulose bearing plants , bamboo is a specie that grows fastest, does not require special soil type , with good sunlight can grow many feet in days. Therefore a cheap raw material with is abundant and renewable can be harnessed indefinitely in our business model. Using bamboo we derive cellulose fibres through a proprietary technology and that does not need water and is non-polluting unlike rayon or paper making processes. We then use suitable bio carriers to create granules for different applications like injection moulding , blow moulding, film producing etc. These granules can be used on regular plastic machines to produce articles of daily use like bowls, plates, disposable cup, mug, glass and various industrial packaging. This material can be composted or bio degraded under natural process of enzyme and weather contact. Our material since use very low cost renewable resource therefore the price is cost effective similar to oil based plastic granules that make it highly scalable and will have huge impact on pollution of air, land and water. Together with solving problem of pollution, we are addressing major problem of employment generation and inclusive growth of communities that depend of farming but does not have highly fertile land holding or well irrigated land. We are not only giving them plantation buyback but also training them to grow more bamboo and right harvesting technology to reap benefits of plantation up to 30 years without any new investment. This is a huge social impact creator and a win-win formula for both the buyer and supplier.

Indicate Process Followed to arrive at the problem statement for which Solution has been developed:

Today we see there is urgent need to move away from plastic use and world over all developed countries are strictly following the same. We need to develop a cheap solution that is cost wise similar to oil based plastic to make users switch to biodegradable option. Therefore we see fast growing bamboo as viable and sustainable option as this grass does not need fertile land or lot of water. Bamboo acts as carbon sink absorbing very high amount of carbon among any plant species thereby reducing air pollution. Bamboo can be harvested for 2-30 years in single plantation cycle. We plan to do this plantation in association with state forest and bamboo missions with primary processing of bamboo located near the plantation owned by community with definitive purchase agreement by us. Fibres extracted will be used in developing granules that can be used to make articles of single use like drinking straws , disposable plates, bowls , coffee cups, water glasses. We will also make drinking water bottles to replace PET bottles and packaging bottles for various applications. Our project is a social innovation that will train and benefit marginal communities that have non cultivable land or dependent of forest for livelihood. We will provide training and definitive buying of the produce.
