p-Toluene sulphonic acid is umbiguous to organich chemistry dispite the fact that it is produced from toluene which is petrochemical in origin. p-Cymene sulphonic acid may be an efficient alternative chemical which may be produced from citrus waste. We have developed a technology for production of p-Cymene sulphonic acid from d-limonene as a renewable feed stock from Citrus waste and applied it for valorization of spent aromatic waste, wherein, a new process for production of xylose, levulinic acid and lignin from biomass was established.
