The process utilises the indigenous machinery, simple dry grinding process, improved down draught kiln and low grade raw materials, which are abundantly available in the country. The cost of production is low due to significant energy saving. The product has fired strength: 44 N/mm2, water absorption: 0.5 to 1.0% at 1200 C and impact strength: 0.4-0.6 kg/cm2. The product is craze resistant as per IS:2838.
