The talc based Trichoderma viride 1.5%WP Bio-pesticide formulation developed at this centre has sufficient trichoderma colony fungal units(Min. CFU-2x106/gm) with good moisture content-10% and self life ). The marketed formulation of Trichoderma that not pre tested for its survivlity in this region or soil eco-system. It is have less self life value which is prosperous material.
The problem has been received from the farmers and agriculture departments for the commercially development of bio-agent (Trichoderma) based formulation/product for the management of seed and soil borne diseases like root rot and wilt which are major problem in field and horticulture crops. Because these diseases can not be easily control by conventional methods like use of fungicide. Besides, the use of chemicals are hazardous in nature and cause environmental pollution. So, there are needed to develop a easy and effective technology for mass production of a biopecticide (Talk based Trichoderma viride) formulation for the control or solve the problems of soil borne diseases.
