Unique Features Of The Solution/equipment - How Is It Different Than What Is Available In The Market:

The Bio-fertilizer and bio-control agent product is in Pelletised form which will help in easy application to ensure supply of desired level of CFU to individual plants. Since the Pellet formulation conains growth promoting substances, rapid growth of bio-fertilizer/ bio-control agents takes place at targeted location. Thereby the use efficiency will be increased for per unit of bio-fertilizer/ bio-control agent applied. The application of Microbial pellets will enable to reduce the Cost of Chemical inputs by 25%.

The bio-fertilizer and bio-control agents currently produced and supplied by the Government and Private Organizations are mainly of two forms 1. Peat based powder formulation 2. Liquid formulation. In both formulations, problems are faced by the farmers to supply specified dosages to individual plants especially for crops such as Banana, Cassava., Coffee, Tea, Pineapple etc., which are widely spaced. Moreover, The shelf life of both the above formulations is only 3 months. At the same time the shelf life of pelleted formulation is 6 months. Based on the feed back from the farmers, research work was undertaken based on published papers to develop suitable protocol and produce pelleted formulation for bio-fertilizer and bio-control agents.
